About Monta Capital
Who is Monta Capital?
Monta Capital Plc is a UK-based real estate investment manager focused on Portugal and the United Kingdom. We work with professional and sophisticated investors on residential development equity and asset-backed private credit, and we invest our own capital alongside our investors in every deal we bring to market.
Is Monta Capital a legitimate company? How can I check?
Yes. Monta Capital Plc is registered in England and Wales under company number 12618347. You can check our record, directors and filings yourself on Companies House. Our team members are named on our website with links to their LinkedIn profiles, and you can speak to us directly before doing anything else.
Where are your offices?
Our UK registered office is at Maple House, High Street, Potters Bar EN6 5BS. Our Portugal office is at Rua Castilho 14C, 5th Floor, Lisbon 1250-069. Meetings are by appointment.
Who runs Monta Capital?
Monta Capital was founded by Thomas Balashev, Founder & CEO. You can meet the team on our About page and book an introductory call with Thomas directly.
Regulation & eligibility
Is Monta Capital regulated by the FCA?
No. Monta Capital Plc is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). This means investments with us are not covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) and complaints cannot be referred to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS). Who can invest with Monta Capital?
Our opportunities are only made available, through our Investor Portal, to people who confirm that they meet the criteria for high net worth or sophisticated investors under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (Financial Promotion) Order 2005, or who are otherwise permitted to receive them. They are not suitable for retail investors.
Do you give financial advice?
No. Monta Capital does not provide financial, tax or legal advice. We strongly encourage every investor to take independent professional advice before making any decision.
Security & risk
How are investments secured?
Security may include first- or second-ranking legal charges, depending on the transaction. The exact security and ranking applicable to each investment are set out in the relevant investment documentation. M&G Trustee Company Limited acts as Security Trustee and holds the relevant security in accordance with the security documentation for the benefit of investors. Read how it works.
What are the main risks?
Your capital is at risk. You may get back less than you invested, or nothing at all. These investments are illiquid and usually cannot be sold early, and returns are not guaranteed. Please read our Risk Disclosure before investing.
Can I withdraw my money early?
Usually not. There is no recognised market for these investments, so you should expect your money to be committed for the full term set out in the investment documentation, or longer.

Register for the Investor Portal, where current opportunities, documents and financial details are available to eligible investors. If you'd like to talk first, book a 20-minute introductory call.
Why aren't returns or figures shown on the website?
Our website explains who we are and how we work. Financial details for each opportunity are shared only with registered investors in the Investor Portal, together with the full investment documentation.
Staying safe
How will Monta Capital contact me?
We only email from addresses ending in @montacapital.com. Our phone number is 020 7118 1815. We will never ask you to send money to a personal bank account, or to pay by WhatsApp, text message or social media.
I've been contacted by someone claiming to be Monta Capital. What should I do?
Firms with similar names have been subject to FCA warnings in the past, so please be careful. If you are unsure whether a message or call is genuine, don't reply or send any money. Contact us directly at investorrelations@montacapital.com or on 020 7118 1815, and check the FCA ScamSmart website.
